University Heights hires firm to give it a brand
We are truly excited to work with University Heights on refreshing their brand! Several of us at Guide Studio have lived in or near University Heights for many years and have a special appreciation for the city and what it represents.
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — A brand is an identifying mark burned on livestock, but a brand can also serve to identify a city.
On Monday, City Council voted without dissent to approve an expenditure of $30,000 to the firm Guide Studio to work on giving a unique branding to University Heights.
“This is a very important pursuit in our city,” said Councilman John Rach. “It’s outlined in our master plan that we do this.
“The look and feel of the city we have now is dated. It’s time for a refresh.”
Before council voted on the legislation, it heard from Guide Studio’s Cathy Fromet, who explained what branding is, how it comes about, and what it can do for a city.
“(Branding) will help you retain residents,” Fromet told council. “It helps you maintain your economic base. It corrects misinterpretations about your city. It’ll help you represent yourself.”
